Will Smith's Film 'Emancipation' Will Be Released In December

Will Smith’s Emancipation will open in theaters Dec. 2 and stream on Apple Dec. 9 in time for awards season.

Apple released the first trailer and poster for the movie. The movie will be eligible for the 2023 Academy Awards.

The actor will star in “Emancipation” and play a slave who fought to evade his hunters through the swamp in Louisiana in his journey to join the Union army.

The Academy banned Smith from attending the Oscars for the next 10 years. But he can be nominated or even win an Oscar.
