Salt-N-Pepa is clapping back against a lawsuit filed by former DJ Spinderella in July.
Months after she claimed she was kicked off the group’s reunion tour with New Kids on the Block and received a “termination” email, Spinderella filed a breach of contract lawsuit in federal court in Texas against Salt-N-Pepa.
Friday, a U.S. District Court Judge in Dallas rejected Spinderella’s requests for immediate relief against Salt-N-Peppa and their management and ordered the case to mediation.
In a statement, Salt-N-Pepa said, “We are grateful for the judge’s ruling as we have been extremely generous to Spin over many decades and attempted to settle what amounts to a divorce, both peacefully and without rancor.”
A rep for Salt-N-Pepa sid, “It’s unfortunate she is choosing to take this path because Salt-N-Pepa have been very good to her, both artistically and financially, for more than 30 years.”
Salt-N-Pepa feel like Spinderella went on a smear campaign.
With Friday’s court decision, Spinderella and Satl-N-Pepa will have to settle the lawsuit in mediation.
