Spanking Can Worsen A Child's Behavior And Do Real Harm

Spanking can worsen a child's behavior over time and do real harm long-term.

Researchers found physical punishment such as spanking is harmful to children's development and well-being.

For example, young children who were physically punished gained fewer cognitive skills than did those who were not physically punished.

And those who were spanked threw more temper tantrums, were more argumentative and showed defiant behavior as they got older.
