The delta variant has led to a record number of kids in the hospital in the US with COVID.
While pediatric COVID hospitalization rates are lower than those for adults, they have surged in recent weeks.
The rate is currently 0.41 per 100,000 children ages 0 to 17, compared with 0.31 per 100,000, the previous high set in mid-January.
And at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, which is the nation’s largest pediatric hospital, the number of kids treated for COVID is at an all-time high.
