At one point during Jennifer Lopez’s Super Bowl half time show she wore a red, white and blue feather coat that was a Puerto Rican flag one one side and the American flag on the other.

Animal rights group PETA was not impressed and called out JLo for what they said was an unnecessarily cruel fashion choice.

PETA tweeted, “This flag could have flown without killing bird. Dozens of birds were KILLED for this #SuperBowl #PepsiHalfTime performance."

According to an Instagram post from one of JLo’s stylist, her feather coat was custom-made by Versace and featured 40,000 red, blue and white feathers "all individually sewn in."

The official Versace Instagram account claimed that “all feathers used for the flag were sourced ethically.”
