Disgraced Papa John’s founder John Schnatter has donated $1 million to the historically black Simmons College of Kentucky.

Schnatter resigned from the pizza chain over a year ago and apologized for his comments about the National  Football League players protesting the national anthem and using the N-word during a company conference call.

Simmons College of Kentucky was founded to primarily educate Black students who were barred or restricted from attending other universities and colleges. The college’s president said that people should focus on Schnatter’s actions not his words.
