L.A. Homeless Shelter Will Be Named for Alex Trebek After Late ‘Jeopardy’ Host

A former Los Angeles rollerskating rink is transforming into a new homeless shelter that will be named for late “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek when it opens.

The Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission says Trebek and his wife made a $500,000 donation that helped fund the purchase of the old Skateland rink in Northridge.

The 23,000-square-foot Trebek Center will offer 107 beds.

The longtime “Jeopardy!” host died Nov. 8 at age 80 after battling pancreatic cancer.
