Bubba Wallace won the NASCAR playoff race at Talladega Superspeedway yesterday (Monday) when it was suspended for rain after lap 117.

Wallace is the first Black driver to win a Cup race since Wendell Scott in 1963.

He broke down in tears after he returned to his parked No. 23 Toyota, the car number picked for Michael Jordan, who wore 23 in the NBA.

The race had been postponed from Sunday due to bad weather at the Alabama track. Since more than half of the scheduled 188 laps were completed, NASCAR rules say the standings will be scored as the official finishing order.
