Biden Wins Primaries In Michigan, Idaho, Mississippi and Missouri

Joe Biden won the Michigan presidential primary and three other states Tuesday, cementing his status as the Democratic frontrunner. Biden also carried Missouri, Mississippi and Idaho, padding his delegate lead over Vermont senator Bernie Sanders. Sanders had a big lead in North Dakota in partial returns. The two were essentially running even in Washington state, with about two-thirds of the vote tallied. Biden entered Tuesday with 664 pledged delegates to Sanders’ 573. It takes 1,991 delegates to win the nomination on the first ballot at the Democrats’ July convention, and Biden gained at least 150 delegates and Sanders 88.
