About 25 million more Americans left their homes on average last week across the country as many states eased their coronavirus lockdown measures.

Cellphone data shows that, on average, about36% of people or 119 million Americans stayed home last week. That’s a 7.7% decreasefrom mid-April during the peak period for the the stay-at-home orders.

In comparison, the average pre-pandemic stay-at-home levels were at about 20% or 68 million Americans.

New York has the highest percentage of people remaining home across the country while the states with the least amount of people staying home are Mississippi and Alabama.
