Damiah Morrison will compete in the International United Miss Junior Preteen pageant in Orlando, Florida. But that’s not all the 10 year-old is doing with her time. She is doing something special for her community.
According to WHSV, Damiah outreach project was putting together and giving 157 ‘blessing bags’ to the Elkton, Virginia area human services organizations like Valley Open Doors, Our Community Place, and Hope Distributed. In the bags are items like water bottles, deodorant, toothbrushes, and feminine hygiene products. Damiah partnered with Walmart, DoubleTree, and Harrisonburg OBGYN to complete the bags. Inside the bags she had a special message that says.
YOU MATTER!!!
Here is a blessing bag for you with a few things, I pray they brighten your day. And, I want you to know that I care and that you matter to God!
Always remember you are someone special and you are loved!
Damiah told WHSV,
“It makes me feel happy even though I may not be able to see their faces when they get it but I hope they love it,”
Damiah raised $1,000, last year, for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and started a community service called ‘Damiah Cares’
